Village Center Infill Development Planning
Io Landscape Architecture worked with Ogden City and land-owners to master plan three urban redevelopment/infill sites in the neighborhood directly east of downtown. Io worked with the city’s Economic Development, Community Development and Planning departments, as well as real-estate representatives for various property owners, to re-design each site. The scope of this included one entire 10-acre city block.
The purpose of the project was to further the city’s revitalization efforts, while providing a neighborhood center for the East Central Community. Proposed plans included breaking down the scale of the large block with mid-block streets, pedestrian oriented design, and mixed-use development, providing increased density and intensity of uses to provide a vibrant village core. The design efforts focused on land uses, building massing, circulation, and open space layouts.
