We’re so glad to have Tonya Rose back with Io LandArch! From 2019-2024, Tonya worked with our team on landmark projects like Platforms Art Park, Sundance Inn, Nine Rails Streetscapes, Promise Park, Weiss Residence, and the Pioneer Park Cultural Landscape Report.
Tonya worked on the planting plan for Sundance Inn, a collaboration between Bockholt Landscape Architecture and Io LandArch.
In her current role, Tonya is supporting projects in our Community Design and Home & Garden studios, bringing creativity and design acumen to our construction documents and visualizations.

Combining Psychology with Landscape Architecture
With a bachelors in psychology and a masters in landscape architecture, Tonya understands each environment as both emotional and physical. She has brought her psychologically aware, interdisciplinary design approach to projects across our portfolio, from parks to development plans to residences.
Tonya helped to guide the design of the Platforms Art Park in Ogden, UT.
In her own words: “I got into landscape architecture after realizing the vital importance of having accessible green spaces in cities for both human mental and physical health and planetary health as preserving and enlarging native green spaces benefits ecological systems.”
For Tonya, this realization has fostered a particular interest in streetscape design and ecologically friendly parks and open spaces.

Visualization & Communication in Landscape Architecture
Tonya is passionate about visualization and communication in landscape architecture, and is an expert at crafting visualizations which facilitate a fluid transition from planning into detailed construction drawings. She takes pride in her work in this phase of the project, particularly how it ensures that progressive project phases continue to align with the client’s vision for the project.
Tonya worked on the renderings for the Ballard Residence, which finished construction last year.
