Historic Landscapes
Emma is fascinated with the process and consequences of design, and cares deeply about landscape architecture, public space, and the stories behind places—from both design and marketing angles. At Princeton University, her studies culminated in an award-winning thesis on American playground design, tracing the history of the development of this particular landscape type from the first American playgrounds in the 1880’s to the 21st century. She applies a similar passion to researching and telling the stories of historic sites, structures, and districts in her work at Io LandArch.

Marketing
In her marketing work, Emma leans into project and place storytelling, aiming to communicate the unique value and services Io LandArch offers to clients and communities. Her Masters in Digital Marketing (from Rutgers Business School) and marketing experience in the AEC industry, add expertise and know-how to her enthusiasm for sensitive and contextual design.

Projects like the Historic Scott School weave historic preservation and community design.
