IO designed a master plan for the Historic Orson Hyde House in Spring City, Utah. Orson Hyde is a significant figure in Utah History and in the heritage of the LDS Church. The site was also significant for its representation of a traditional pioneer-era homestead within the context of early Mormon town planning. The master plan for the project included the recreation of the site’s original barn, as well as the implementation of a series of fenced pastures and orchards. The area around the main house was fenced in early pioneer tradition. This protected enclosed area now provides a kitchen garden, small outdoor patio and play lawn, as well as an old-fashioned clothesline.
