Healy House Garden

An image of the landscape at building at the Jones Residence.

Located in the Eccles Historic District in Ogden, Utah, the Healy Home was built in 1920. Io LandArch worked with the homeowner to envision a period appropriate, and simultaneously modern garden for this English Country Manor. The design uses stacked stone retaining walls, boxwood hedges, and a lotus inspired ornamental iron fence to create formal ‘rooms’ in the landscape; that are juxtaposed with native meadow and woodland plant communities. The resulting design is whimsical, intricate, and distinctly mountain, while also being drought tolerant, and pollinator friendly.
