Io Landscape Architecture Moves to the Historic Scowcroft Mansion

Io is excited to announce our new location, in the Historic Scowcroft Mansion at 795 24th Street, in Ogden’s historic Trolley District. As a Landscape Architecture firm that specializes in Historic Landscapes, historic landscape documentation, preservation, adaptive re-use, as well as historically appropriate new landscapes – we are excited about our new home and its rich history.

The 2-story forsquare mansion was built by Heber Scowcroft in 1909. Designed by Moroni Charles Wood, the structure features neoclassical detailing, which have survived throughout the years, and make this an exceptionally prominent structure in the neighborhood today.

Since it is October, we’d like to take a minute to indulge in the building’s spooky history. Heber Scrowcroft passed away in the home in 1922, and from 1925-1930 the building was the home of Malan Mortuary. Paranormal activity has been reported in the building, and we’re already in the process of planning our Halloween all-nighter!

Today the Scowcroft Mansion is home to RE-Max Crossroads, the Satya Center, and now Io Landscape Architecture!
