The Historic Scott School Community Center & Pioneer Craft House, will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony to re-open the facility after the first phase of improvements (which are nearly completed). Actually the hardscape is in, and the planting will have to wait until next spring. But, the re-opening of the facility has been much anticipated by the local arts community – and it will be a good opportunity to see the historic landscape/adaptive re-use in-progress.
The event will be held this Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 am. The site is located at the corner of 3300 S. and 540 E.
The event will be followed by a Handcrafted Holiday Market, Open Studios, and Craft Activities. It should be fun for the entire family!
December 10, 2012 Update — The ribbon cutting was a huge success! The Mayor Woods of South Salt Lake City, and a range of local and county officials assisted in the ribbon cutting. Representatives from the press were also in attendance. Here is a link to the news story on Fox 13.
